Heather (like the Weather) Cagle (like a Bagel)

is a dancer, storyteller, choreographer, and space holder

from Toledo, Ohio.

Raised in a community where resilience, care, and connection

were woven into everyday life, Heather learned early that

love has a way of carrying us through. Movement became

her language; a way to express what sometimes lived

beyond words.

Heather’s dance journey began with a library card. Curious

to learn, she checked out dance books from the library and

began teaching herself. That curiosity eventually led her to

Toledo School for the Arts, where she began her dance

training, before continuing her formal training in college. Her

determination has carried her to international, national, and

local stages, as well as the privilege of dancing with four

professional companies. Most recently with Deeply Rooted

Dance Theater, which holds a special place in her artistic journey.

Heather is passionate about creating work and spaces

where communication, creativity, connection, and community can flourish. Inspired by mentor Shonna Hickman-Matlock’s words, “Dare to Fail,” she continues to move toward possibility with courage, love, and an open heart.
